Reflection of Practice (R.O.P) is a collaborative and research-driven publication exploring key design movements including Bauhaus, Postmodernism, Speculative Design, and New Horizons. Developed by four groups, each focused on one thematic section, the book merges critical writing, curated readings, and personal reflections into a cohesive and engaging editorial piece.
Designed with fellow graphic designers and design-curious readers in mind, this project emphasizes the principles of publication design, particularly the intentional organization of text through varied grid systems. Each section not only reflects its historical and theoretical focus, but also demonstrates typographic sensitivity and visual rhythm.
Through collaboration, contributors gained hands-on experience in managing multi-page layouts in Adobe InDesign, as well as skills in typesetting, hierarchy, and interactive margin notes. Personal annotations and marginalia offer a layered reading experience, encouraging dialogue between reader and content.
The final outcome is a physically bound and hand-cut book, combining professional design practice with craft, research, and reflection.
